What is Micro-Needling?
Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation technique offered at Skinsation Clinic that uses a device equipped with tiny needles to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.
Micro-needling is mostly used on the face and may treat acne scarring, enlarged pores, various scars, fine lines and wrinkles.
How does Micro-Needling Rejuvapen Work?
Rejuvapen is a hand held device about the size of a pen. It has a sealed needle that is inserted into the top of the device, which penetrates the skin at different levels. Causing micro trauma that prompts the skin to heal and repair itself, making new collagen and elastin to form while helping the breakdown of old collagen. This promotes collagen, improving texture and a visible reduction of fine lines and acne scars.
What to Expect?
Starting with a deep cleanse then a topical numbing cream is applied to the skin, this makes the treatment more comfortable for the client. We start of the micro-needling needles to glide through the skin while pushing these peptides deeper into the skin for a more beneficial treatment. We work the needles into the skin until we see visible pinpoint bleeding. Once we have the area treated, we follow with 20 minutes of Dermalux LED light therapy to accelerate results and reduce downtime.
After the treatment, redness is normal on the treated area and can feel like a mild sunburn. Redness typically lasts up to 5 days, depending on the client and you can experience some mild flaking for up to 7 days. We give repair cream to use for the following days post treatment.
Results can be visible after one treatment, we recommend a course of 3 sessions, one month apart. Optimum results can be seen from 6-8 weeks after treatment as this is how long it takes the body to stimulate collagen.
A microneedling treatment generally lasts about 1hr 30 minutes and costs €200 per session. We also have course options available.
