Anti Wrinkle Injections – Smooth Away Lines With Dr. Tom

Wrinkle relaxer injections are injections of the medication Botulinum Toxin A. At Skinsation Clinic, we use wrinkle relaxers to create a fresher and more youthful appearance by temporarily relaxing facial muscles, working by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces the muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form. At your consultation with Dr. Tom Mc Connell he will discuss your concerns and outcomes of the procedure.

The treatment itself is quick and painless. The anti-wrinkle neurotoxin is injected using a very fine needle into the belly of the muscle. The effect of the anti-wrinkle injection takes about 4-5 days to become noticeable and 10 days to see the final result. We recommend that you avoid massaging the area and not to lie down for four hours immediately following anti-wrinkle treatment. We also recommend that you do not have a facial or massage and treatments for 14 days to prevent migration of the product to other areas. Avoid heavy exercise or anything that is too hot i.e. hot showers, sauna, and sun exposure for 24-48 hours.

The effects of the wrinkle relaxing injection usually last three months, at which time another anti-wrinkle injection is required. After several treatments, the effects may begin to last longer, sometimes up to four to six months.
